Spread the Love
Let’s kick things off with the spirit of giving. Christmas is all about generosity and kindness. Consider lending a helping hand by volunteering at a local charity, donating to a food bank, or getting involved in a gift drive. Help a neighbor clear the path of snow or remove the leaves in the garden. It’s the simple and mostly small things that bring happiness. These acts of kindness not only make a difference in others’ lives but also fill your heart with warmth and joy. Did you know that science show that random acts of kindness is one of the best things-to-do if you want to become happier? Create Your Own TraditionsMake your holiday season uniquely yours by starting or continuing traditions that resonate with you. Whether it’s whipping up some cookies with the fam, cozying up for a Christmas movie marathon, or hitting the streets for some caroling, these traditions build a sense of togetherness and make the season special.
Unplug and Connect
In a world dominated by screens, take a breather this Christmas. Put down the gadgets and spend quality time with your loved ones. Plan a game night, host a family dinner, or just have a heart-to-heart by the fireplace. Did you know that Netflix has a lovely fireplace? That one is even better for the environment too! Disconnecting from the digital noise lets you reconnect on a more personal level.
Dive into Festive Fun
Get into the holiday spirit by diving into the array of festive activities around you. Visit local holiday markets, stroll through beautifully lit neighborhoods, or embrace the winter magic with some ice skating or sledding. These activities add a touch of enchantment to your holiday and create memories that last. None of those in your neighborhood? A long walk in any kind of nature works well too. And X-mas songs of course!
Treat Yourself, Too
While you’re spreading joy to others, don’t forget about yourself. Take some time for self-care. Whether it’s getting lost in a good book, taking a leisurely walk, or practicing a bit of mindfulness, prioritizing self-care ensures you start the new year with a fresh and positive vibe. This is also the season to take some time to reflect on this year, what went well? What do you want to change? As Leonard Bernstein, the famous musician once said: “To achieve great things, two things are needed; a plan, and not quite enough time.” So make a plan to make 2024 your best year yet. Make a difference in your plan between the bigger plan (what do you want to reach), projects (how to achieve that, what are the big things?) and actions (what are the actions to make this plan a success. Directly aiming at the actions, can cause a feeling of overwhelm).
With love & holiday greetings,
